Contingenci by Good Human: Sustainable Veterinary Solutions - Orthopedic Recovery Cushion and Exam Table Topper

Contingenci by Good Human is Revolutionizing the Veterinary Industry

SAN JOSE, CA, Feb. 28, 2024 - Startup and female minority-owned company Contingenci by Good Human is transforming the veterinary space with its line of sustainable and easy-to-utilize pet products. While previously involved in projects with active brands The North Face, Specialized Bicycles, and Marmot, Contingenci’s shift in priority emphasizes the diverse potential and power of upcycling and the need for more eco-friendly facilities in the field.

The self-funded organization operates by repurposing leftover athleticwear and outdoor textiles from deadstock to comfortable animal items. These products include orthopedic recovery cushions for pets to rest on while in the clinic, which are equipped with quick-drying technology that ensures proper hygiene and maintenance. Another creation is the green and clean multilayered table topper, featuring stackable mechanisms and custom sizings that make the product perfect for any office.

Contingenci was founded by Linda Tang in 2020 as a means to supply masks to first responders; now these products are being repurposed into apparel and dog beds. Utilizing her 16+ years of experience in the outdoor apparel industry, Tang set up shop in the Bay Area, embracing the location’s reputation for innovation and creativity. The high costs associated with the region led to the focus on collaboration with sustainable companies and employment of otherwise discarded fabrics and materials. This decision has accumulated in a brand with a clear mission of cooperation and environmental responsibility.

Contingenci’s line of apparel is devised, developed and tested at its 1,500 square feet manufacturing site. Products like mats are carefully handmade, ensuring the items meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and stand apart from competitors with their unique design. The veterinary clients have been faithfully considered with the team conducting physical visits to clinics to learn of the exact needs of the professionals and pets alike. Products are then developed proactively with an emphasis on quality assurance in order to get ahead of the curve and ensure issues have been resolved before items are sent to consumers.

Currently, Contingenci is advertising its products at upcoming veterinary conferences and looking for clinics to become ambassadors. Along with the renewability factory, investments like the quick dry towels will save centers thousands in annual laundry costs and replacement fees. To teach industry experts that their tools can be sustainable and cost effective without generating a massive carbon footprint are at the top of Contingenci’s priority list.

Along with its green initiatives, Contingenci aims to support the endeavors of aspiring minority female sustainable businesses in the California area. The organization believes that empowering these voices will lead to new innovative and environmentally-friendly practices through the accumulation of unique and often underrepresented perspectives. On top of this, the company places task responsibility and education on subject experts to avoid workload hierarchy and ensure all opinions are considered and respected. Through incorporating these values into all operations, Contingenci is sure to spearhead productive change that impacts more than just one industry.
